I have been a consultant, a professor, and a manager. In all
of these roles I have been interested in how to enable
organizations to improve their ability to meet sociallyrelevant
goals. My recent work has been in three areas:

Gender Equality and Organizational Learning

  • Co-founder and co-director of Gender at Work, an
    international collaborative that strengthens organizations to
    build cultures of equality and social justice. I am currently
    serving as an Advisor to Gender at Work.
  • Co-leader of action learning processes in Africa and India
    for gender equality
  • Consultant to Northern NGOs helping them consider their
    work on gender equality
  • Co-author of papers and books on gender equality and
    action learning including, Gender at Work, Organizational Change for Gender Equality.

Human Rights

  • Co-leader of a process of renewing membership activism
    in Amnesty International Canada
  • Past President and current member of the Executive
    Committee of Amnesty International Canada
  • Organizational consultant working on issues of structure
    and strategy for NGOs and governments.

Leadership Training

  • Faculty member at the Canadian Organization
    Development Institute (CODI)
  • Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University
  • Co-designer and leader of a management simulation for
    the Canadian Centre for Management Development
